Frequently Asked Questions
Following submission of the online application, successful candidates will be invited to participate in an interactive video interview. You will receive the invitation through your TeacherTrack account along with further instructions.
What is the interview process?
During the interactive video interview, you will answer questions about your past experiences and your beliefs about effective teaching. You will also respond to classroom scenarios that are representative of the challenges that new teachers may face. The purpose of the interview is to further assess your fit with the program and your potential to become an effective teacher through our training model.
If you are applying to teachNOLA, you will complete your interview in person in New Orleans. You will receive additional information and directions with your invitation.
If you are applying to Baltimore City Teaching Residency, Indianapolis Teaching Fellows, Nevada Teacher Corps or Roots L.A., you will use a computer or smartphone to complete your interview through an interactive video online. Since these interviews are internet-based, you may complete yours at any time on any day.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM APPLYING TO TEACHNOLA BUT AM UNABLE TO ATTEND IN PERSON?
You should email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you cannot attend an interview in New Orleans. We will set you up with an interactive video interview.
AM I ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN AN INTERVIEW WHILE LIVING ABROAD?
Yes, our internet-based interviews are accessible from just about anywhere that has internet access. If you are unable to access the internet, we can arrange to conduct your interview via phone.
WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO PREPARE FOR MY INTERVIEW?
Prior to your interview, carefully read the Steps to Prepare and review your application questions. You will not have access to your application after submitting it, so we advise you to save a copy of your application questions and responses before submission.
